Mr. Ashton joined Aldrich & Cox in 1981. He provides a full range of Employee Benefit and Risk Management consulting services and serves as the Editor of the firm's newsletter, Analysis & Comment.
Mr. Ashton is a 1967 graduate of Union College where he earned a B.S. degree in Psychology. He received his Juris Doctor, cum laude, from the State University of New York at Buffalo Law School in 1974 and was admitted to the New York Bar in 1975.
Mr. Ashton earned his CEBS (Certified Employee Benefit Specialist) designation in 1985.
He is a member of the International Society of Certified Employee Benefit Specialists, the International Foundation of Employee Benefit Plans, the American Bar Association and the Erie County Bar Association.

Mr. Cox joined Aldrich & Cox in 1974. Mr. Cox provides a full range of Risk Management and Employee Benefit consulting services to clients and is the principal consultant on most Health Care and Educational Institution clients.
Mr. Cox is a 1974 graduate of the State University of New York at Buffalo where he earned his B.S. degree in Business Administration.
Mr. Cox is a member of the Society of Risk Management Consultants and served as the president of that organization from 1989-90. He also writes a column published regularly in the national magazine, Risk & Insurance.
Mr. Herbert C. Cox, CPCU, ARM / Chairman of the Board
Mr. Cox co-founded Aldrich & Cox in 1951. He served as its president from 1963 until 1987. Although retired, he still provides counsel to the firm.
Mr. Cox is a 1943 graduate of the New York University where he earned his B.S. degree in Business Administration.
He earned his CPCU (Chartered Property and Casualty Underwriter) designation in 1954 and his ARM (Associate in Risk Management) in 1967.
Mr. Cox is a Life member of the Society of Risk Management Consultants.
Mr. James B. Hood, Jr., CPCU / Executive Vice President & Secretary of A&C

Mr. Hood joined Aldrich & Cox in 1975 and provides a full range of Risk Management consulting services to clients. He is the Director of the Holfoth Risk Management Division of Aldrich & Cox and is the principal consultant on most Public Entity clients.
Mr. Hood is a 1969 graduate of Wake Forest University where he earned his Bachelor of Business Administration. He also earned his CPCU (Chartered Property and Casualty Underwriter) designation in 1980.
Mr. Hood is also a member of the Society of Risk Management Consultants and served as the president of that organization from 2001-02.

Mr. Swinamer joined Aldrich & Cox in 2002. He provides a full range of Risk Management consulting services to clients. He specializes in Property Loss Control and Engineering and supports the servicing effort for all clients in this area.
Mr. Swinamer is a 1970 graduate of Wentworth Institute of Technology in Boston, MA where he earned his Associate in Engineering degree. He has over 30 years of insurance and risk management experience as a Senior Loss Prevention Engineer and District Manager with Industrial Risk Insurers (IRI) where he had responsibility for underwriting, engineering and claim services.
